I understand what Mistikelf said in her critique and actually share some of her views about the picture; those in regards to composition and the semiotics that we as spectators can find within the frame... But that being said, I would like to refer specifically about 2 things both in the post – processing area, because that for me took the power, the strength and a lot of the emotions that this image has to offer the first one is the amount of softness that I can see in the face area, while the hole picture maintain the actual proportions for depths, that amount of blur/softness takes the attention away from the actual “pain of being forced to play the song over and over again” I believe you have a really great image in your hands just like "Man of the street" which is for me your best (people related) The second part of my critique refers to the vignetting, I do believe it works wonders for your composition and lighting but I also believe that especially in the right area of your image. That perfect define circular edge kills the mood…
This work even though it’s good. It’s not amazing as the previous critique says, “Man of the Street” another work from this same artist actually manage to translate far better his outstanding capabilities with the camera.
Such a powerful image, first of all I'm a big fan of your photography I think it has a lot of emotions and beauty and this one has a special and strong emotion, we can almost feel his sorrow and sadness, we can almost listen to the song he's playing and we can almost feel the pain of the chains, a wonderful capture and wonderful use of the light on this one, really calls to the attention to him and the chains on his back, almost like he was being forced to play the song over and over again. Amazing job my friend I just loved it
Really good photo, I like the expression in his face, like expectation. Congrats for an excelent and well balanced photo. The only thing is that I'd have positioned the subject in the 2nd 3rd of the photo, other than that, really good composition and exposition.
