You wanted me to give you a critique for this one. As I say to everyone (when I remember); don't mind the stars, they aren't worth anything when it comes to a written critique.
I took a little time looking at this image, wonderin about what you want to show me and I think you want to show me the sunbeams spreading over a city/town. That in mind the critique will be as follows:
1. I would up the exposure of the entire image by somewhere between 0,3-0,5. 2. I would use the graduationtool in LR to darken the town back to the state it's now. 3. I would lower the highlights a little bit. This would give you a little more details in the clouds. 4. I would add some clarity, which would give you a nice contrast on the important parts here. 5. And finally I'd straighten the horizon.
All these steps are minor changes to a picture I think you've done very well. When it comes to the technical you've done well.
I think you've got a good eye for photography, Paul, and you should just keep on shooting. I'd recommend you to have a look at some Lightroom workflow videos, it's really helpful to see what others do and notice techniques they use, so you can apply it to your own work. Lightroom is a very powerful tool and I use it for 85% of my editing.

Hope this was helpful, Paul
